Mission
We tell the world about the world

Our mission is to further the promotion of liberal democracy and the safeguarding of the environment by the actions of accountable governments. To advance this cause we report, without fear or favour, the affairs of nations that are in transition, their politics, economics, business, finance and human rights - and we tell it how it is, consistently, calmly, and objectively.

Outposts of Tyranny
Posted on Monday, April 14, 2008 - 11:16 AM
Condi Rice named six nations described as 'Outposts of Tyranny.' and "Fear Societies". These are Cuba, Zimbabwe, Myanmar, Iran, North Korea and Belarus.

These are all good choices, but we note that no allies of the US or 'hosts' of US military bases, or oil and gas supplier nations are listed except Iran, with whom the US has famously had a spat for 30 years now. Did she overlook any others?

We invite readers to add any more nations, particularly since the Fourth Division of our Democracy Report consists of 74 nations, many of which fall into her category of 'Fear Societies.' :-
